Southeast Missouri
State University - Kennett
Kennett is a designated regional
campuses of Southeast Missouri
State University. Within the 20,000
square feet facility, undergraduate
and graduate courses are taught
via the traditional classroom
setting and interactive television
(ITV).
Kennett businesses and community
members have demonstrated support
for the campus with generous donations
for the facility, training equipment
and scholarships. Significant
contributors include Kennett National
Bank, Larry and Nancy Swindle,
Kennett Development Corporation,
Pauline Mizell Aukes and Dr. Lewis
Aukes, the Simcoke Family and
Sheryl Crow.
The Kennett campus has a history
of working with local industry
and customizing training to meet
their needs. University resources
are available to facilitate all
types business and industry training.
In addition to the following programs,
non-credit community interest
courses such as Spanish, children’s
cooking school, computer skills,
and ballroom dancing are offered.

Three Rivers Community College
is a comprehensive, public, two-year
college. The college opened a
regional campus in Kennett in
2005. They provide affordable
freshman and sophomore level college
courses and career and technical
training.

Vocational School
The Kennett Area Vocational School
provides career-technical programs
of excellence for both the youth
and adults of Dunklin County.
The goal is to help high school
and adult students secure rewarding
employment that will improve the
quality of life for themselves
and their families
Located on Kennett High School
Campus, Kennett Area Vocational
School serves nine area high schools
and features 11 classrooms that
double for traditional lecture
type education and hands-on laboratory
activities.

Housed in the Vocational School,
The Kennett School of Practical
Nursing was begun in 1973. The
program accepts twenty students
each year. Graduates of this program
consistently receive high scores
on their State Examinations. Since
the program's inception, very
graduate except one has received
their state licensure.
Adult Basic Education
An adult basic education program
is offered for persons interested
in completing requirements for
a high school equivalency certificate.
