History - From an early Indian village to timber fields and fertile farmland, Kennett is state's largest cotton, watermelon and cantaloupe producer, contains the largest drainage system in the US Drainage District, and is hometown to 3-time Pulitzer Prize winner Sally Stapleton and 11-time Grammy award winner Sheryl Crow.
