FCC September Suicide Prevention Month

FCC Behavioral Health. One of my departments is the Public Relations department and I know we have worked diligently in strengthening our business relationships. I want to do more of that. I took over the PR department in December of 2019, and we have had quite a ride since then. Our community outreach has looked a lot differently than I had originally planned. With that being said, I am reaching out in preparation for the month of September. September is National Recovery Month as well as National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. These two causes are part of FCC Behavioral Health's core, and FCC works hard to promote awareness for them.

This September FCC is asking for community support, in a very simple but highly visible way, by asking all to decorate their store fronts or windows with yellow ribbons for the entire month. A sobering fact is that a Missourian dies by suicide every 8 hours, and Missouri ranks 11th in the nation for suicide. FCC wants to change those numbers. FCC began the #NoMoSuicide movement years ago, and stands behind that slogan still. FCC's sincere goal is to help to end the stigma surrounding mental health and help to top Missouri suicides completely. One suicide is one suicide too many.
