Joint Press Release from Dunklin County Economic Development, Kennett Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Kennett January 23, 2026 Re: Greenbrier Kennett Furlough On Friday, January 23, 2026 The Greenbrier Companies published a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act Notification indicating a temporary furlough which will affect a number of employees at its Kennett location.
This announcement does not suggest a permanent closure, but we understand that the impact on employees will be immediate. This is unfortunate news for the Kennett community, and we are aware that this creates uncertainty for the employees and local families affected.
The City of Kennett, Kennett Chamber of Commerce, and Dunklin County Economic Development will all exhaust all options to assist the employees of Greenbrier. We will work closely with the Missouri Department of Economic Development and Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development to ensure that Greenbrier employees have access to all available resources during this period.
Greenbrier is a valued industry partner of the City of Kennett, and we anticipate a long-lasting cooperation which will overcome this difficult time. |
